I am sorry to say that I was disappointed in the writing. The story was rife with spelling errors, like "taunt" instead of "taut". The evil Humchins were advanced enough for space travel and mind controlled weapons, but too stupid to go door to door to look for someone. A cave just outside of town was as safe as the Franklin Mint, too. Seriously, merely turning a corner made them completely give up.
There was this entire scene devoted to explaining to Cami how dangerous her NI implant was, the very mechanism by which they escaped with their lives and unmolested, and yet that issue was completely dropped never to be brought up again.
Zorvak claimed he wanted to keep their relationship a secret or else her life would be in danger. Then he proceeded to act like they were together, holding her hand, taking her to the arena, and warning others away. However, Cami later complained that she didn't want to be hidden in the shadows. What shadows? He held her hand and let everyone know she was staying in his home. Zorvak was drugged, kidnapped, and sold to a fight ring, and has not determined who was involved for sure. And yet he just strolled out leaving Cami with one of his guards.
It was also rather difficult to get into Cami's character. She spent most of her time on the Humchin's planet whining about the free soup she got from fellow stranded Jarians. They barely made ends meet, and developed the awful tasting yellow soup as the cheapest way to keep from starving while getting all the nutrients they needed. And they shared their meager supplies with Cami without hesitation. The very least she could have done was not say a word about the soup. They are on the edge of starvation and she's complaining it's not seasoned to her liking? All while Oddle sews her clothes from her rags. Also, Munic and Oddle come from a pacifist planet, surrounded with a force shield to keep out invaders. The force shield is vital, because if one single creature got through, the entire planet would surrender. The. Entire. Planet. One does wonder how they ever managed to avoid becoming conquered long enough to develop a planet wide force shield, considering they live in a part of space with quite a few planets with inhabitants capable of space travel. Also, the cube of clothing on the Humchin ship became a strapless micro mini dress. The clothing conforms to whatever form is wearing it. So we are to believe that female Humchins, which look approximately like ants with an exoskeleton, walk around in strapless micro mini dresses. In green.
And the prose went along the likes of the following excerpt: "She looked at me with a question and I nodded, letting her know to answer his question." The dialogue is stilted. Davenport really doesn't need to explain what a nod means. We get it. The entire story was written like that, so I can't understand the reviews. I had a very difficult time getting through the story.
We really need to expect better writing from this genre.

Zorvak Rescue Compatibles eBook Hannah Davenport Reviews
This book had good world building. It was easy to imagine what the planet and different aliens were like. I like the idea of Compatibles. It took a while for Zorvak to be ok with Camille and her way of seeing things but when he was completely on board it was sweet. There is a lot of suspense, action and romance and of course hot, hot lovin. I recommend this book and look forward to the next book in this series. Enjoy! 😀
I loved this book. Can't wait to read the next book in this series. There was enough action, sexual tension, romance, and miscommunication to keep my interest.
I hate that this story is a standalone because I think more humans should meet the rest of the guards! I hope she ads to this!
I liked that this story was a bit different. The character were different. I just wish troubling little things like having a Royal Guard when there is no royalty a bit strange. Hhhmmm
I was impressed with this very enjoyable story that had some interesting twists. The author had well developed world building and solid characters. I especially liked the female lead who was a strong character. Please dear author write books about her fellow crew members. 5+
I really liked that escaping from the fight club planet wasn't the end of the story. If you had to escape a space-station with little planning what wouldn't you do with that power?
I am thinking there will be another book, maybe we'll see more women from Earth and then find out whether anyone will endanger their lives for the NU in their heads that allow them to control other computers. That was the only thing I found as a loose end in this story and left me wondering if she would get hers removed.
A fun, light and steamy human women meets alien man. Cami is the Chief pilot for a small deep space exploration team form Earth. Forced to abandon their ship, Cami is separated from her crew. Things don't go according to plan and Cami crash lands on a hostile world.
Zorvak is slated to be the next ruler of his people. He drugged and shipped off to a lawless world. When he uses his psychic abilities looking for help he connects to Cami.
Cami and Zorvak get off to a rocky start. He is stunned to find his mate is a female of an unknown species. Compatibles are rare and he is not going to give her up.
Loved Cami and Zorvaks story I hope Cami's friend Lara comes looking for her. Zorvak's Captain of the Guards, Roark, needs a Compatible to call his own.
I am sorry to say that I was disappointed in the writing.
